Hyderabad: The Jeedimetla police have intensified investigation into the suspicious death of the teenage girl with the help of scientific support. Apart from questioning local residents and those close to the girl, they are also verifying CCTV footage.
Though the investigation officials initially suspected it to be a suicide, the dramatic turn of events that followed and with the family raising suspicion have prompted the police to look for more scientific evidence, including the autopsy report and surveillance footage.
Though the 17-year-old victim’s home is about 300 meters away from the crime spot at the construction site, she is suspected to have reached there three hours later after she went missing from her house on Monday night.
“We are investigating from all possible angles including suicide, accident and murder,” police said. Preliminary investigation did not so far indicate the role of any other person. According to CCTV footage, the girl walked alone to the building where she was found dead later.
Officials are checking if she had met anyone before the incident and whether anyone else was moving suspiciously in the area at that time. The autopsy report and the Forensic Science Laboratory reports are also awaited.
