Jagtial: Senior politician and BRS general secretary, T Jeevan Reddy has come down heavily on the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for his derogatory comments against the BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao in connection with the Kaleshwaram project.

While participating in a public meeting in Kataram of Bhupalpally district on Monday, Revanth Reddy said that it would be no sin even if BRS chief was hanged to death for wasting Rs 1 lakh crore of public money stating that the Kaleshwaram project which collapsed within three years of its inauguration.

Reacting sharply, Jeevan Reddy said that it was not proper on the part of Revanth Reddy to make such comments. Unable to digest the success of Chandrashekhar Rao’s Jagtial meeting, Revanth was making cheap comments, Jeevan Reddy said at his first press conference after joining the BRS here on Tuesday.

Commenting on the success of the meeting, he opined that the meeting was akin to public meetings during the Telangana agitation.

“People are seeking a change. They strongly desire that Revanth Reddy should go and KCR should come”. The Congress government was cheating all sections of the people in the name of Prajapalana. Farmers were facing severe hardships as the state government failed to implement its poll promises made to the farming community.

Recognising the importance of education, Chandrashekhar Rao established gurukulam schools to provide quality education to the poor students. However, Revanth Reddy completely neglected them, he said and alleged that so far, not a single review meeting was conducted on the education sector.

Becoming a puppet in the hands of Andhra leaders, Revanth Reddy was supporting the construction of Polavaram project. In 2015, CM caught red-handed in vote-for-note case in a process to make Vem Narender Reddy as an MLC.

Revanth Reddy made comments on Nadendla Bhaskar Rao’s episode without any knowledge. Nobody had removed him from the minister post. He himself resigned from the post in the support of Nadendla Bhaskar Rao, who was sacked from minister’s post during NT Rama Rao period. Not only himself, the entire congress party including Indira Gandhi extended support to Nadendla Bhaskar Rao, BRS leader said.

Stating that Prajapalana was being implemented only for the benefit of CM’s followers, Jeevan Reddy said that Rahul Gandhi was not aware about the developments in Telangana.

Commenting on CM’s statement that he was given Congress tickets for 14 times, Jeevan Reddy questioned whether the Congress party gave tickets to him without awareness of his strength? He won the MLC seat irrespective of political affiliation, he informed.

Stating that his political career was an open book, the senior leader said that he never went to Delhi seeking a berth in the cabinet or for any TPCC posts. Political positions were not important. Self-respect was more important. He underwent mental agony for 20 months in the Congress party.

However, Chandrashekhar Rao, who was the ray of hope for Telangana, welcomed him into the BRS party. Revanth Reddy was trying to join the BJP as an envoy of AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu, he alleged.
