Warangal: Jeevanlal Banothu, a research scholar in the Department of Chemistry, Kakatiya University (KU), Warangal, was awarded a PhD degree by the Kakatiya University a couple of days ago. Jeevanlal presented a thesis for the Degree of PhD in Chemistry on “Synthesis and Characterization of Inorganic Metallic Oxides and their Photocatalytic Applications” as a part of his research.
Controller of Examinations, KU, Prof P Malla Reddy has announced the doctorate. Jeevanlal, who did his research under the supervision of Dr S Jyothi, had got qualified for the GATE two times. “I also got the qualifying marks and cleared the NET two times and SET three times,” Jeevanlal said adding that he had submitted six research papers in the national and international seminars.
Jeevanlal hails from a poor tribal family of Somla Thanda of Teegarajupally village of Sangem mandal of Warangal district. His parents Bhadramma and Keemya Naik eke out a living as farmers.
Jeevanlal, is presently working as a part-time faculty member at the KU College of Engineering & Technology, Kakatiya University Campus, Warangal.
Faculty members of the Chemistry and other departments including Dr Bhukya Devender have congratulated Jeevanlal for getting the PhD award.
