Hyderabad: Marking a significant step toward strengthening digital transformation (DX) talent development and industry – academia collaboration in India, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) announced the launch of AGC Asia Pacific (India) Pvt Ltd., AAPI Innovation Hub (AI-Hub) on Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H) campus on Thursday.

Established in partnership with IIT-H, the AI- Hub aims to promote technological advancement and foster practical skill development through internships, joint research programs, and collaborative innovation initiatives. The hub is expected to support AGC’s broader DX efforts by creating opportunities for students and researchers to work on real-world industry challenges while contributing to the advancement of emerging technologies.

The AGC Asia Pacific India and IIT-H have previously collaborated on internships and joint research initiatives, particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Building on the success of these engagements, AI- Hub will further deepen and expand its collaboration with IIT-H in a more strategic and sustained manner.

Speaking on the occasion, JICA India chief representative Takeuchi Takuro said India and Japan share a vision rooted in innovation, technology, and human capital development.

“AI-Hub in India reflects the growing strength of the Indo-Japan partnership, where digital transformation is not only advancing industrial competitiveness but also nurturing globally skilled talent. Through collaborative innovation, knowledge exchange, and technology-led growth, such initiatives will further deepen bilateral cooperation and contribute to building resilient and future-ready industries across both nations,” Takuro added.
