Jindal group to set up integrated steel plant at Nellore
Andhra Pradesh govt approved allotment of 860 acres of land at a lower price for the plant which is proposed to be established near Momidi and Tamminapatnam villages

Amaravati: Jindal Steel Andhra Ltd. will come up with 2.25 million tonne integrated steel plant at a cost of Rs.7,500 crore in Nellore district.
Informing this to media persons after a meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board here on Tuesday, Industries minister Mekapati Gautham Reddy said the meeting approved allotment of 860 acres of land at a lower price for the plant which is proposed to be established near Momidi and Tamminapatnam villages of Chillakuru mandal in Nellore district. The plant would provide direct employment to 2500 persons, he disclosed.
Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy who chaired the meeting had said that new industries in the state should provide 75 per cent of the jobs to locals and strictly comply with the pollution control norms. The SIPB had discussed five investment proposals including Rs.14,000 crore investments of heavy industries providing employment to about 25,000, he said.
The approvals accorded on the day include Pitti Rail Engineering Components Ltd., at Kopparthi near Kadapa for manufacturing components for electrical, locomotive, power and other industrial units at a cost of Rs.401 crore and generating jobs for 2,000, and a Rs.486 crore unit of Neelkamal Ltd., also coming at Kopparthi near Kadapa giving 2030 jobs in furniture and home appliances manufacture.
GreenTech Industries was also given the green signal for expansion and the company provides steel and iron products for Ford, Hyundai, Volkswagen and other companies, and would provide 2200 jobs in addition to the 2700 employees working there, the minister said.
