Hyderabad: A total of 53 gold medals and 78,395 UG, PG and PhD degrees will be awarded for the academic year 2018-19 during the IX th convocation of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) on Friday. Governor and JNTU-H Chancellor Tamilisai Soundararajan will take part in the event and DRDO chairman and Department of Defence R&D secretary Dr G Satheesh Reddy will deliver the convocation address.
The JNTU-H will confer Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) on Satheesh Reddy. In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the event will be conducted online. So far, 478 students of JNTU-H constituent colleges/units were placed during the campus recruitment in the current academic year. This time, the highest package was Rs 23 lakh per annum, while the average salary was Rs 4.20 lakh per annum, the university said, adding that a college placement umbrella was established to help and support placement activities of the university constituent/affiliated colleges.
