Hyderabad: To bridge the gap between industry and academia by integrating cutting-edge, industry-oriented training into the undergraduate engineering curriculum, JNTU-Hyderabad and Bajaj Auto Limited on Wednesday signed an MoU to establish the Bajaj Engineering & Skills Training (BEST) Centre on the university campus here.

As part of this initiative, Bajaj Auto Foundation, CSR arm of Bajaj Auto Limited, will establish state-of-the-art laboratories with an investment of Rs 10 crore for the robotics and automation vertical, and around Rs 8 crore for the e-mobility vertical.

The programme will be implemented through a five-year agreement and during the first phase, the university will implement two of BEST’s six technology verticals — Advanced Manufacturing (Robotics & Automation) for Mechanical Engineering, and Electric Mobility for Electrical and Electronics Engineering — integrating them directly into the UG curriculum.

JNTU-Hyderabad Vice Chancellor Dr T Kishen Kumar Reddy, Rector Dr A Damodaram and Registrar Dr A Jaya Laxmi, among others, were present during the MoU exchange.
