Hyderabad: A group of job aspirants has approached the Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS), alleging that a couple from Vijayawada cheated them of lakhs of rupees by promising overseas employment.

The complainants have sought strict action against the couple identified as Soujanya and Srinivas, accusing them of running a fraudulent recruitment operation.

According to the complaint, the couple operated a consultancy named Flying Border Consultancy from Begumpet and allegedly targeted unemployed youth by offering jobs abroad.

Victims claimed they paid amounts ranging from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 14 lakh each, but neither received the promised jobs nor refunds.

The complainants further alleged that nearly 2,000 people across the State may have fallen victim to the alleged fraud.

They also claimed that the couple was arrested in Vijayawada last week in a similar cheating case but was later released on bail and allegedly continued targeting job seekers.

The CCS authorities are investigating.
