Hyderabad: Fraudsters duped a man of Rs 13 lakh on pretext of a job in a UK-based company.
According to the police, the victim Venkat Murali had lost his job during the lockdown and during his attempts to find a new job, uploaded his resume on various online job portals. He received an email purportedly from a UK-based company which said that he was selected for the job.
“The person who claimed to be an executive of the company offered six months salary too as advance to him. On the pretext of visa processing and security deposits, the conmen convinced the man to transfer Rs.13 lakh into various bank accounts,” Cybercrime police officials said, adding that a probe was on.
