Jogu Ramanna blames Congress’ anti-farmer policies for agrarian crisis

Former minister Jogu Ramanna accused the Congress government of failing to fulfil its poll promises and adopting anti-farmer policies. Speaking at a BRS programme in Bhoraj, he alleged that farmers were facing difficulties due to inadequate support and power supply.

Adilabad: Former minister Jogu Ramanna slammed the Congress for duping the public by failing to fulfil its six poll promises. He was speaking at a programme conducted by BRS cadres over the anti-farmer policies of the Congress in Bhoraj on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramanna expressed anger against the Congress for causing a crisis in the agriculture sector by adopting anti-farmer policies. He said that the party duped the farmers by not keeping its promises, including crop loan waiver, enhanced Raithu Bharosa, Rs 15,000 annual assistance to tenant farmers and Rs 12,000 support for agricultural labourers.

The former minister alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was spreading lies by failing to implement full-fledged crop loan waiver and the Raithu Bharosa scheme. He opined that the farmers were struggling to raise crops due to anti-farmer policies adopted by the Congress. He added that the agriculture sector was not getting an uninterrupted supply of power.

Ramanna recalled that the farmers were happy during the BRS regime for 10 years in a row. He remarked that Raithu Bheema and Raithu Bharosa initiatives were recognised across the country. He observed that farmers had a golden era during the rule of the BRS party. He said that the farmers were now seeking the return of the party to power.
