Jogu Ramanna, BRS cadres arrested ahead of CM’s Adilabad tour
Former minister Jogu Ramanna accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of prioritising elections over farmers’ issues and failing to strengthen irrigation. Ramanna and BRS cadres were detained after announcing plans to stall the CM’s tour amid municipal polls.
Adilabad: Former minister Jogu Ramanna asserted that the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was more interested in elections than farmers. He along with cadres of BRS was detained for announcing to stall Revanth Reddy’s tour to the district early on Friday morning.
Ramanna said that Revanth failed to bolster the irrigation sector in his two years-long stint. He could not irrigate a single acre so far. He recalled that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had strived hard for transforming the irrigation sector by conceiving ambitious irrigation projects such as Kaleshwarm Lift Irrigation Scheme and Chanaka-Korata by allocating a huge chunk of funds.
The former minister stated that Revanth Reddy was touring both Nirmal and Adilabad districts in view of ensuing municipal polls. Revanth is always focused on elections rather than addressing challenges of farmers. He is not worried to resolve issues of soy and cotton farmers, but is interested in elections and politics.
