Jogu Ramanna urges rollback of fingerprint system for soy procurement
Former minister Jogu Ramanna demanded the withdrawal of the new fingerprint-based system for soy procurement, calling it inconvenient for farmers. He urged the government to restore the OTP method and criticised local leaders for ignoring growers’ problems in Adilabad
Adilabad: Former minister Jogu Ramanna demanded that the government withdraw the newly introduced fingerprint marking system for procurement of soy and revert to the One Time Password based method for purchasing the produce. He addressed the media here on Monday.
Ramanna said the new system was causing inconvenience to farmers. He recalled that the BRS government procured soy using a farmer-friendly OTP system for the convenience of growers and had also procured wet soy from farmers.
He criticised local MP G Nagesh and MLA Payal Shankar for neglecting farmers’ problems, stating that the elected representatives were not exerting pressure on the government to remove restrictions on cotton procurement or ensure MSP for the white gold, yet were showing fake concern for growers. He alleged that they were misleading farmers.
Ramanna asserted that the BRS would continue to fight for farmers until they received justice. He warned that public representatives would not be allowed to move freely on the roads if they ignored farmers’ welfare.
