Hyderabad: The Jogulamba-Gadwal district police foiled the attempts by a family to perform the marriage of a minor girl at Ramapuram village in Vaddepally mandal.
The minor girl’s marriage was fixed with a person from Vaddepally mandal. On coming to know about it, Shantinagar police rushed to Ramapuram village and foiled the family members’ attempts and rescued the girl.
The police later handed over the girl to the district Child Development Project Officer. The police informed the girl’s family members that stern action would be taken for performing the marriage of a minor girl.
