Hyderabad: Joint Action Teams (JATs) have been set up to handle monsoon-related issues in the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE), comprising the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation.
An orientation programme for the Joint Action Teams (JATs) was held on Thursday by CMC Commissioner G Srijana to review measures to further strengthen coordination among various departments during the ongoing monsoon, according to a press release.
Srijana emphasised the need to strengthen the system for receiving area-specific rainfall forecasts, particularly one-hour and two-hour advance alerts, from the IMD to facilitate proactive measures.
She instructed officials to categorise and implement all monsoon-related works under short-, medium- and long-term plans, while prioritising permanent solutions alongside the resolution of immediate issues.
Officials from the GHMC, MMC and CMC, the Police, HYDRAA, HMWSSB, Fire Department, NDRF, SDRF, the IMD and other departments took part in the programme.
