Joy ride turns fatal as teenager drowns in farm well in Mancherial
Rudra Vamshi, a 17-year-old student from Luxettipet, drowned after his bike hit a soil heap and plunged into a farm well near Nambala village. Police launched an investigation.
Mancherial: A 17-year-old Intermediate student from Luxettipet town drowned in a farm well after a joy ride turned tragic near Nambala village in Dandepalli mandal on Sunday morning.
According to Dandepalli Sub-Inspector Tahseen, the victim, Rudra Vamshi, lost control of his motorbike after it hit a heap of earth close to the well. He fell into the water and drowned. His friend, who was riding pillion, managed to survive by clinging to a tree on the bank.
Vamshi and four others from Luxettipet had ventured out for a joy ride during the extended weekend. After the accident, his friends alerted his parents, who then informed the local police. A team rushed to the spot and retrieved Vamshi’s body.
Following a complaint lodged by Vamshi’s mother, Nagamani, police registered a case and launched an investigation.
