Jubilee Hills bypoll: District Election Officer oversees first EVM randomisation

Hyderabad: The first randomisation process for the EVMs to be used in the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency bypoll was conducted on Thursday at Victoria Play Ground centre in Chaderghat.

This event was overseen by District Election Officer RV Karnan, along with nodal officers Apoorva Chauhan, Hemant Keshav Patil, and Returning Officer P Sairam, and in the presence of representatives from political parties. In this process, units that passed the First Level Check (FLC) were allocated for use in the upcoming bypoll, said a press release.

Meanwhile, Karnan inaugurated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) control room for the bypoll and said an immediate response was required to any violations of the election code of conduct. Upon receiving information about MCC violations, field-level election teams such as the expenditure monitoring team, Flying Squad Teams (FSTs), Static Surveillance Teams (SSTs), Video Surveillance Teams (VSTs), and Video Viewing Teams (VVTs) would be alerted immediately, he added.
