Hyderabad: The nomination of Hyderabad Youth Courage (HYC) founder and president Salman Khan for the Jubilee Hills Assembly bye-election was said to have been rejected due to discrepancies in his papers on Wednesday.
Salman Khan had filed four sets of nomination papers for the Jubilee Hills bye-election. He was contesting as an independent candidate. However, during scrutiny, officials found discrepancies in the papers he had submitted, following which his nominations were rejected.
Salman Khan had been visiting minority-dominated areas of Jubilee Hills for the last three months and engaging in social activities. After the schedule for the Jubilee Hills bye-election was announced, he filed his nomination. In recent days, he had organised a few public meetings and held a padayatra.
He had claimed that he was not associated with any political party, which was being discussed on social media platforms.
