Since there is no facility to take care of the kitten in Medak district, forest officials shifted it to Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad after consulting higher authorities on Tuesday evening
Medak: Forest officials of Medak district rescued a days old jungle cat kitten from a sugarcane field in Haveli Ghanpur Mandal in Medak district on Monday. The officials, who placed the kitten on the forest fringe on Monday evening to help it reunite with her mother, kept a watch on its movement throughout the night. There was, however, no sign of the mother till Tuesday afternoon. Since there is no facility to take care of the kitten in Medak district, forest officials shifted it to Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad after consulting higher authorities on Tuesday evening.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Manoj, Forest Range Officer, Medak, said the kitten was found by a farmer Ravindar Singh at Sulthanpur village while he and his family were harvesting the crop on Monday. They immediately informed the forest authorities who rushed to the spot. Initially, they thought it was leopard’s female cub since there was good presence of leopards in Havelighanpur area. The kitten is healthy, they said.
