Hyderabad: Officials of Irrigation department opened 26 gates of Priyadarshini Jurala Project (PJP) and releasing 1.80 lakh cusecs of water downstream.

The water released from Jurala project would reach Srirailam Dam and if the same inflows continue into the Srisailam dam, officials might lift the gates soon.


The project is receiving 1.80 lakh cusecs of inflows because of heavy rains in the upstream areas in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The water level in Jurala is now 8.048 TMC as against the total capacity of 9.657 TMC, officials.
