Jyothi Buddha Prakash assumes charge as Singareni CMD

Senior IAS officer Dr Jyothi Buddha Prakash formally assumed charge as Chairman and Managing Director of Singareni Collieries Company Limited on Thursday. SCCL Directors welcomed him and briefed him on the company’s overall functioning

Peddapalli: Senior IAS officer Dr Jyothi Buddha Prakash, who has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of Singareni Collieries Company Limited, formally assumed charge at Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad on Thursday.

On his arrival at Singareni Bhavan, he was welcomed by General Manager (Coordination & Marketing) T Srinivas. Thereafter, Dr Jyothi Buddha Prakash took over his official responsibilities in the Chairman’s office.


SCCL Directors LV Suryanarayana (Operations), K Venkateshwarlu (Projects & Planning), Gowtham Potru (Personnel & Finance) and Executive Director (Coal Movement) B Venkanna extended their congratulations to the Chairman by presenting bouquets. The Directors also briefed him on the overall functioning of Singareni.

Buddha Prakash is a senior IAS officer of 2002 batch. Until now, he served as Scheduled Castes Development Department secretary, and also held key responsibilities as secretary to State Planning Department.

Earlier, he worked in various capacities in regions where Singareni coal mines are located. He also served effectively as district Collector of Adilabad and as ITDA Project Officer in Bhadrachalam.
