Jyothi Yarraji clocks 13.24s for bronze and Asian Games qualification
Indian hurdler Jyothi Yarraji won bronze in the 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Continental Tour event in Bhubaneswar. Her 13.24-second timing also helped her qualify for the 2026 Asian Games, with athletics officials congratulating her achievement
Bhubaneswar: India’s Jyothi Yarraji won a bronze medal in the women’s 100m hurdles with a timing of 13.24 seconds at the country’s first-ever World Athletics Continental Tour event at the Kalinga Stadium here on Saturday.
Importantly, the performance also helped Jyothi qualify for the 2026 Asian Games, to be held later this year, according to M Narayana Rao, general secretary of the Visakhapatnam Athletics Association.
Mr Ganababu, MLA and chief patron of the VAA, D Nageswara Rao, president, and A V Raghavendra Rao, executive member of the Athletics Federation of India, congratulated the star athlete on her performance and expressed hope that she would bring laurels to the country at the Asian Games.
