Suryapet: Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Project Director Jyothy Padma on Thursday said she would strive to improve the implementation of schemes meant for welfare of children and women in coordination with other departments.
Speaking after assuming charge as Project Director of ICDS at the District Collectorate here, she said the staff of ICDS and anganwadi centres have a key role in protection of child rights as well as welfare of women and children. “The ICDS staff should work with commitment for implementation of schemes and projects taken up by both the Centre and State government for the welfare of the children and women. The officer pointed out that nutritious food was being supplied to pregnant women through anganwadi centres, which helped in reducing the cases of low weight birth babies.
Jyothy Padma was recently transferred as Suryapet ICDS PD from the same post in Malkajigiri-Medchal district.
