Kairos International School celebrated World Environment Day on June 5. The school principal, teachers and students were present for the event. Students were all dressed in green attire.
The principal welcomed the students with an opening speech giving an insight into the importance of the day. She made the students aware of the need to take immediate action to save the environment and Mother Earth.
A student of Class-VI addressed the audience with an enlightened speech and requested all to spread the awareness of saving the environment. He asked each one to do their bit by stopping the use of plastic bags, stop wasting food, start using public transportation to save fuel and start recycling for a green tomorrow. Children should lead the eco-revolution and become change-makers, he said.
Students took an oath to take an initiative to save the environment and doing their bit for a cleaner and greener Earth. They enthusiastically participated in activities such as posters making, growing sprouts and making green salad, painting on themes of water conservation, writing articles on banning the use of plastic and writing slogans. The celebrations ended with educating students on how to plant and adopt a tree and motivated them to plant more and more trees.
