Warangal: Kakatiya University will host the three-day ‘Telangana Science Congress-2025’ marking the Golden Jubilee of the university, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K Pratap Reddy said.

The university is organising the Science Congress-2025 to mark it’s Golden Jubilee Year on August 19. The three-day event will be held from August 19 to 21 in collaboration with Telangana Academy of Sciences.

The organising secretary of the Science Congress Prof. B Venkatrama Reddy informed that two plenary sessions, four thematic parallel sessions, two sub-thematic sessions, four special theme parallel sessions, four parallel oral presentations, two parallel poster sessions and panel discussions would take place during three-days.

This is the second time the university is hosting the Science Congress after the formation of Telangana as a separate state. The first one was held at NIT, Warangal in 2018. As many as 1000 delegates would participate in the event, he said.

The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pratap Reddy revealed that marking the Golden Jubilee Year, proposals have been submitted to the Chief Minister for the establishment of the Golden Jubilee Academic Building and the Centenary Building and Academic Block of the University Arts and Science College, which incidentally celebrates its centenary year.

Similarly, arrangements were also being made for setting up an Academic Block of the Women’s Engineering College, hostel, common mess and one hostel each for boys and girls and for tribal students.

In addition to this, steps were being taken to launch ‘PV Vigyan Peetham’ and subsequently to develop it as a research centre for social and economic progress, the VC added.
