Chennai: Actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, whose latest release Lokah is running successfully at the box office, has slammed a fake post on X that claimed her parents once sent her and her brother to stay at an orphanage in Vietnam to “teach them the value of life.”
Replying to the tweet, which falsely attributed the quote to her, Kalyani wrote: “I’ve never said this and it never happened 🙂.” She added: “So, please stop spreading false news.” The handle that posted the claim deleted it soon after her response.
Meanwhile, director Dominic Arun’s Lokah continues its strong theatrical run. The film, touted as Malayalam cinema’s first woman superhero project, has grossed over ₹200 crore worldwide.
Recently, Kalyani penned a gratitude note on Instagram: “Yesterday, our film reached a number that was only possible because of you, the audience. I’m beyond speechless, and truly beyond grateful for the love being showered on this film. In our industry, content has always been king… and once again, you’ve proved that to us.”
She also praised Arun: “Thank you for giving us a vision we could believe in with our whole hearts. None of this would have been possible without you. To the amazing cast and crew — this win feels special only because I have you guys to share it with.”
Produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, Lokah – Chapter 1 – Chandra features cinematography by Nimish Ravi, editing by Chaman Chakko, and music by Jakes Bejoy. Action choreography is by Yannick Ben, with additional screenplay by Santhy Balachandran and art direction by Jithu Sebastian.
