Kamareddy: The Kamareddy police invoked the PD Act against a man who raped a minor girl by offering her a lift in his auto-rickshaw last December. He was recently released from the Charlapally jail on bail.
Odde Hanumanthu (26), a resident of Mutyampet village of Domakonda mandal in Kamareddy district, in December 2020, gave a lift to a minor near Pedda Chervu tank of Kamareddy town and raped her.
The police, who are of the view that he is harmful to society and could disturb the peace and communal harmony, took steps to invoke the PD Act against him. He is now again lodged in the Charlapally jail.
