Kamareddy: Scanning machines used for gender determination tests seized in raids
The police seized sonography machines that were being allegedly used for gender determination of foetuses from the house of one Ittam Siddaramulu in Sriram Nagar Colony.
Kamareddy: In a crackdown on the increasing number of ultrasound scanning centres in Kamareddy district headquarters, health officials and police personnel on Saturday conducted raids at various places in the town and seized two ultrasound scanning machines.
According to information available, the police seized sonography machines that were being allegedly used for gender determination of foetuses from the house of one Ittam Siddaramulu in Sriram Nagar Colony. He was served a notice in connection with the incident.
The team has identified places where illegal gender determination tests are being carried out. The team is carrying out raids at several places in the Kamareddy town.
