Kanhaiya Kumar slams Revanth Reddy over Bihar DNA remarks

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s remark comparing the DNA of Telangana and Bihar residents has triggered widespread criticism, including from Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar. In a televised interview and viral video, Kumar called the statement humiliating and inappropriate, asserting that party affiliation should not shield such behavior.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s controversial remarks on the DNA of people from Bihar continue to draw strong objections from various quarters, including within the Congress party itself.

In an interview with a television channel, AICC in-charge of NSUI Kanhaiya Kumar faulted the Chief Minister for his comments.

When asked to react to Revanth Reddy’s remark that Telangana people’s DNA was superior to that of Bihar people, Kanhaiya Kumar said, “It is better to ask this question to Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor. These days, he has taken the tender to reply to such (on Revanth Reddy’s) remarks).”

In a video circulating on social media, Kanhaiya Kumar said it was uncalled for to make such statements that humiliate others.

“Irrespective of such a person being in our team or another team, we will call such a person rude and ill-mannered. Even if he is from our party, there will be no change in our stand. Let there be no confusion,” he emphasised.

Revanth Reddy’s comments have sparked anger in Bihar, with many leaders slamming the Chief Minister. It may be recalled that Prashant Kishor has already vowed to defeat Congress, particularly Revanth Reddy, in the next Telangana elections.
