Kapil Sibal slams Congress government for arrest of two journalists in Telangana
"Arresting two journalists for criticizing the Chief Minister, allegedly spreading falsehoods, and inciting divisions to disrupt law and order—really? Arrest is not the answer; it is a symptom of a spreading disease called intolerance," Sibal posted on X.
Hyderabad: Former Union Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal has come down heavily on the Congress government in Telangana over the arrest of two women journalists on Wednesday. He dubbed the act as “intolerance”.
“Arrests of two journalists for criticizing CM for spreading falsehood inciting divisions to disturb law and order. Really? Arrest is not the solution. It is the result of a contagious disease called: Intolerance,” Sibal said on X.
Many X users also slammed the Congress government, especially Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, for the undemocratic attitude.
Southpaw, an X user said “This is not the first time ever since Congress came to power in Telangana. Its becoming a new normal. Journalists are being targeted for showing what exactly people talk about the government. Why, Rahul Gandhi?”
Sharing Rahul Gandhi’s past video, another X user SrGoud29 said: “Ye Rahul Gandhi kaa nafrat ke bazaar mein mohabbat ki dukan…”
