Karimnagar: Government DIET (District Institute of Education and Training) college, LMD colony, Karimnagar, is seemingly providing quality education to students since a number of students from the college got teacher jobs in the recent DSC. A total of 161 students studied in the college got Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) and School Assistant teacher jobs in the DSC.

While 134 students were selected in Telugu/English medium, 27 were from Urdu medium. It is a classic example of how the institute is imparting quality education to its students. The highest of 32 students pursed D.Ed in the college during the academic year 2015-17 secured teacher jobs followed by 24 students in 2014-16 academic year, 21 (2017-19 academic year), 19 (2013-15), 18 (2012-14), 15 (2018-20), 11 (2011-13), 7 (2020-22), 6 (2019-21), 3 (2021-23) and one each in 2009-11 and 2022-24 academic years.

Belonging to various districts such as erstwhile Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak and others pursued D.Ed in the colleges. All of them received appointment letters from the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in a programme held in LB stadium, Hyderabad on October 9.

Speaking to Telangana Today, College Principal Sriram Mondaiah expressed happiness for being selected for DSC by the students of the college in a big numbers. Stating that a majority of them come from poor backgrounds, he said that sincere efforts and hard work helped them to crack the jobs in DSC. A majority of the students pursuing education in the college were from poor backgrounds and the students from Asifabad and other interior areas would not have money to have a meal every day.
