Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar said on Sunday that dream of the poor to own a house was fulfilled with the allocation of double bedroom houses to beneficiaries.
Kamalakar and District Collector RV Karnan handed over 67 double bedroom houses to beneficiaries in Kamanpur of Kothapalli mandal. The beneficiaries were selected through draw of lots. They too took part in the house warming ceremony of H no 7,8,9,10 and 11 besides distributing house pattas to beneficiaries. All the beneficiaries occupied their houses by performing the house warming ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said first of its kind in the district, double bedroom houses were distributed to residents of Kamanpur. All facilities including electric meters, drinking water and other facilities were arranged in the houses.
In all, houses of 47 families from Ramulapalli hamlet of Kamanpur would be submerged in Lower Manair Dam, and 36 of them had been provided houses as part of the rehabilitation package. The remaining 11 families too would be alloted houses by the officials after holding gram sabha depending on their eligibility.
Kamalakar advised the people of Ramulapalli to vacate their existing houses and occupy the double bedroom houses alloted to them. “Selling or giving on rent the 2BHK houses is a crime,” he said, adding that people who didn’t get houses need not to worry and all eligible people would be alloted houses in the coming days.
Additional Collector GV Shyamprasad Lal, RDO Anand Kumar, Transco DE Rajireddy, and AD Raju, Kothapalli Tahsildhar Srinivas, MPP Srilatha and others participated in the housing warming ceremony.
