Karimnagar: About 30 sheep died when a BJP campaign vehicle mowed them down near Korkal of Veenavanka mandal on Wednesday night. Kampa Ramulu, shephered, was also injured in the accident.

Some people from Kamalapur mandal on Wednesday morning came to Mamidalapalli to campaign on behalf of BJP in Huzurabad by-election. While returning after the election campaign in the night. Shepherds Kampa Ramulu, Amma Rajaiah and Kampa Santhosh Kumar along with 230 sheep were also returning to home.


The speeding vehicle, which was allegedly being driven by a 16 year-old boy, hit the sheep near Korkal graveyard. While 30 sheep died on the spot, Ramulu sustained injuries in the accident. He was shifted to a hospital in Jammikunta.

The driver surrendered before the police. On coming to kow about the incident, Veenavanka SI Kiran Reddy visited the spot and began investigation by registering the case.

Meanwhile, TRS candidate for Huzurabad by-polls Gellu Srinivas Yadav consoled injured Ramulu when he visited the hospital and assured that the government would take care of his treatmen. He asked the doctors to provide quality treatment to Ramulu.
