Karimnagar: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with a patriotic fervour and gaiety across the erstwhile Karimnagar district on Sunday.

District collectors Pamela Satpathy (Karimnagar), Koya Sree Harsha (Peddapalli), Satya Prasad (Jagtial) and Sandeep Kumar Jha (Rajanna-Sircilla) unfurled national flags in their respective districts.

In Karimnagar, Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Mayor Y Sunil Rao, MLAs Kavvampally Satyanarayana and Medipally Satyam and others participated in celebrations held in police parade grounds.

Government whip and Dharmapuri MLA Adluri Laxman Kumar, MLC T Jeevan Reddy and local MLA Dr Sanjay Kumar took part in the event in Jagtial.

Government whip and Vemulawada legislator Adi Srinivas and Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan participated in the celebration in Sircilla.

In Peddapalli, MLAs Ch Vijayaramana Rao and Makkan Singh Raj Thakur took part in celebrations.
