Karimnagar: Collector Pamela Satpathy instructed officials to take steps to provide employment to unemployed youth by enhancing skills among the youth.
The Collector organized a skill development committee meeting at the Collectorate conference hall here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, she said that besides self-employment, the focus should be on caste occupations. Officials from DRDA and MEPMA should visit the business establishments, private companies and other organizations wherein more than ten people are being employed and know their requirements. According to their requirement, intermediate and degree completed students should be given apprenticeship training, she instructed and emphasized the need to give skill training to students in art craft, embroidery and tailoring right from Class 8.
She asked the officials to submit a report about the details of vocational courses being offered in different junior colleges, types of training, details of people underwent training and the details of people underwent training under the National Apprenticeship Scheme. The Collector instructed officials to make arrangements to give coaching to youth in carpentry, electrician, jewelry, beautician, food processing, furniture fitting, electronics and hospitality.
Instructing the officials to prepare a poster along with the details of all courses to be offered, she asked trainee collector Ajay Kumar to prepare a plan for the purpose.
