Karimnagar: The Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB), one of the oldest banks in the erstwhile Karimnagar district, will have its centenary celebrations on December 28 at Padmanayaka Kalyana Mandam in the town.

On the occasion, a pylon to mark the centenary celebrations would be unveiled on the bank premises in Karimnagar town. For the first time, the NAFSCOB board of directors meeting would be held at Karimnagar DCCB on December 28.


Besides eminent personalities in the cooperative sector, Ministers S Niranjan Reddy (Agriculutre), KT Rama Rao (Municipal Administration and Urban Deveopment), Koppula Eshwar (Social Welfare) and BC Welfare Gangula Kamalakar (Civil Supplies and BC Welfare) would grace the function, said TSCAB chairman, Konduri Ravinder Rao in a statement.
KRIBCHO chairman and International Cooperative Alliance-Asia Pacific president Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, IFFCO Dileep Sanghani, NABARD Chairman GR Chinthala, NAFED chairman Dr Bijender Singh and its vice-chairman Dr Sunil Kumar Singh, NCARDB chairman Sivadasan Nair, all State cooperative banks chairpersons, all districts DCCB chairpersons and CEOs, legislators, ZP chairpersons, Collectors, PACS chairpersons and governing body members and its CEOs of the integrated Karimnagar district would attend.

The Karimnagar DCCB started in 1921 was having a share capital of Rs 9 lakhs in the year 1959 and it increased to Rs 117.73 crore during this year. The deposits had increased from Rs 7 lakhs in 1959 to Rs 2,000 crore this year. The loaning of the bank has also increased from Rs 50 lakhs to Rs 2,000 crore. The bank staff number increased from 40 personnel in 1959 to 484 currently. The bank branch business was increased from Rs 11 lakhs in 1959 to Rs 59 crore per bank now.
