Karimnagar: TRS leader and former BC Commission member Dr Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan slammed former Minister and Huzurabad MLA Eatala Rajender for criticising TRS and comments against the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao who gave him high positions in the govt.
Speaking to reporters in Huzurabad on Wednesday, Krishna Mohan stated categorically that there was no truth in the former Minister’s argument that his self-respect was affected by his dismissal from the Cabinet. In the wake of allegations that Rajender and his family members had occupied assigned lands, the State government initiated action against the former Minister and appointed a committee of IAS officers to probe the issue, he said.
“Has the government done something wrong in responding to the allegations leveled by land-owners? How does the government move damage his self-respect? It is not proper on the part of the former minister to occupy lands of the poor taking advantage of their helplessness,” Krishna Mohan said, and wondered if Rajender expected the government to be a mute spectator role when lands of poor are occupied illegally by him.
He also observed that the BC community were impressed by Rajender’s speeches about their problems on various occasions, and they believed that he was a great leader representing the downtrodden sections. “However, Rajender revealed his true colours when he illegally occupied lands allocated to dalits,” he said.
Responding to Rajender’s allegations that his dismissal from the Cabinet was a conspiracy by the government since he hails from the BC community, Krishna Mohan asked: “Would Rajender have achieved such high positions if the Chief Minister had a mindset against the growth of BCs?. Moreover, where is the BC angle in initiating action against illegal land grabbing?”
In 2014, Rajender was given an opportunity to contest elections, he said, adding that besides serving as MLA for six terms, he also was a Minister twice.
