Karimnagar: Since people are scared to donate plasma to patients suffering with Covid-19, YK Foundation created awareness among the public asking them to save lives by donating plasma.

Members of the Foundation presented demonstrations by holding placards at Telangana Chowk here on Tuesday. Placards and banners read: ‘Donate Plasma and Save Lives’.

Speaking on the occasion, YK Foundation founder Kadem Suresh said people who were donating blood without second thought were scared to donate plasma. Majority of them were not aware that plasma (white blood cells) was an integral part of blood, he said.

Antibodies, which lay in plasma, fight with corona when the virus enters the human body. There was a possibility that the acute Covid positive patients would get relief from the virus if plasma of Covid survivors was injected into their blood, he added.

The Foundation’s State general secretary Maddi Sai Kishore Goud, secretary Chittimadla Rahul and others participated in the demonstration.
