Karimnagar man drowns in Godavari river at Kotilingala during holy dip
Karimnagar, Vignesh, a resident of Karimnagar, visited Kotilingala with his wife, Srilatha, on Sunday to take a holy dip in the Godavari River. After completing the ritual, the couple entered the river for a bath. While swimming, Vignesh accidentally drowned in front of his wife.
Jagtial: A 32-year-old person, Srimanthula Vignesh, drowned in the Godavari river at Kotilingala of Velgatoor mandal.
A resident of Karimnagar, Vignesh along with his wife Srilatha went to Kotilingala to have a holy dip in the river Godavari on Sunday.
The couple got down into the river to take a bath. Vignesh was swimming in the waters after the holy dip and drowned accidentally in front of his wife.
Srilatha raised an alarm, following which other devotees rushed to the spot and searched for Vignesh, but in vain.
Velgatior police reached the spot and retrieved the body by deploying professional swimmers.
