Karimnagar man killed as bus crashes into hotel in Shamshabad
A 34-year-old Karimnagar man heading to Hyderabad airport to return to Saudi Arabia was killed after a speeding private travel bus lost control and crashed into a hotel at Shamshabad on Monday. Several others were injured and shifted to hospitals
Hyderabad: A 34-year-old man from Karimnagar, who was heading to Saudi Arabia after a vacation, was killed after a private travel bus lost control and crashed into a hotel at Shamshabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Monday.
The victim was identified as 34-year-old Muhammad Azeem, an NRI and resident of Citizens Colony in Karimnagar.
Azeem had reportedly arrived in Hyderabad from Saudi Arabia to spend time with his family and was on his way to the airport to return when he stopped near Shamshabad for tea.
According to police, he had parked his car on the roadside and was returning with his tea when the speeding Seven Hills Travels bus, which was trying to avoid a container, lost control. The bus first rammed three cars parked along the roadside before crashing into Balaji Bhavan Hotel and hitting Azeem.
Azeem died on the spot. His body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Azeem had reportedly been married for around 18 months and had a young child. His death left his family and relatives in shock.
Several other persons sustained injuries in the accident and were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Police registered a case and launched an investigation into the accident.
