Karimnagar Mayor, gets Safaimitra Suraksha Award

Karimnagar: Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao, along with Commissioner Yadagiri Rao, received Safaimitra Suraksha Challenge Award. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel presented the award at a programme organised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi on Saturday. Under the award, Karimnagar Municipal Corporation got Rs 4 crore prize money.
It may be recalled that MCK got the national level second rank (in below 3 lakh population towns category) in Safaimitra Suraksha Challenge Award taken up as part of Swachh Bharat Mission. Expressing happiness for receiving the award, the Mayor said Karimnagar managed to win the award by competing with 246 towns across the country. It was materialised only because of the cooperation extended by local public and officials and hard work by sanitation staff and other workers.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao also appreciated MCK for winning the award, he informed and thanked BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar and TS Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar for their cooperation.
