Karimnagar: Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao promised to develop government schools on par with corporate schools besides providing quality education by arranging all facilities. As part of the Mana Ooru-Mana Badi programme, the Mayor along with Commissioner Seva Islawath, and smart city and municipal engineers visited the government school in Subashnagar of 23rd division on Friday.
He examined the works taken up with Rs 1 crore under smart city programme as well as midday meal, and toilets. He also examined the proposal for construction of two additional class rooms, kitchen shed, and drainage. Interacting with teachers and students, he enquired about other problems in the school as well as the quality of the food prepared in midday meal. He instructed smart city and municipal officials to take up remaining developmental works in the school.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor informed that 25 schools in the town were included in smart city programme and allocated 17 crore to take up developmental works. Modernisation and other developmental works were already taken up in some schools by spending Rs 6 crore. Besides implementing the E-classroom method, all problems would be solved in schools taken up under smart city programme, he informed and added that another 25 schools would be taken up under Mana Ooru-Mana Badi programme.
Out of 60 schools in the town, 50 schools would be developed by providing all facilities and remaining schools would be taken up in the second phase. The E-classroom teaching method is going to be implemented in 25 schools taken up under the smart city programme and Rs 11 crore was allocated to make necessary arrangements. Talking about Subashnagar school, he informed that the school which has 750 strength has been included in smart city programme and taken up modernization works by allocating Rs 1 crore. Besides developing two classrooms, toilets, and kitchen shed to prepare midday meal would also be constructed.
According to the instructions of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, schools would be inspected on every Friday to identify the problems prevailing in schools. The identified problems would be solved by allocating funds from both smart city as well as Mana Ooru-Mana Badi programmes.
