Karimnagar: Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao urged the Lok Sabha Speaker to terminate BJP State president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar from the House for observing ‘jagarana deeksha’ in violation of Covid norms.

The Mayor wanted the Lok Sabha Speaker to order a comprehensive inquiry into the ‘deeksha’ episode.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Sunil Rao said though the visuals of Sanjay Kumar attacking himself during the time of his arrest were making rounds on various social media platforms, the BJP leader was spreading false propaganda against the police stating that the latter had attacked him in the process of arresting him.

Stating that a game of musical chairs was being played out for the post of BJP state president post, he observed that in order to protect his post, Sanjay Kumar was showing false love for government employees and playing cheap tricks in the name of protests. Mayor advised the BJP leaders not to play with the lives of the people and employees for their political gains.

Zonal system was a State issue and it did not belong to only Karimnagar district. If the BJP leader was really committed to solve the issue, Sanjay Kumar should have started deeksha at the BJP State office.

After being elected as MP, Sanjay Kumar has done nothing for the development of Karimnagar town as well as the entire parliament constituency during the last two years. To divert the attention of Karimnagar people, the BJP leader enacted political drama in the name of deeksha but not to solve the problem of teachers and employees in the State, he opined.

Continuing in a responsible post of MP, Sanjay Kumar does not have minimum knowledge to get police permission for staging a protest, he said and opined that instead of respecting laws, BJP leaders violated laws. Instead of passing time by spreading wrong propaganda, saffron party leaders were not interested in the development and welfare of the public.

“Sanjay Kumar is a person who tarnished the image of the Karimnagar district. The BJP leader organised deekshas and yatras in the past too but nobody objected to that,” he said adding that the people of the state were observing everything and will teach a befitting lesson to BJP.
