The Collector also instructed officials to carry out corona tests in highly populated areas by organizing special medical camps.

Karimnagar: District Collector K Shashanka instructed medical officers on Tuesday to conduct 300 Covid tests in every Primary Health Centre in the district every day. He emphasized the need to enhance tests in every PHC in the wake of spurt in corona cases in some areas.

Interacting with medical officers of all PHCs through a teleconference, Shashanka said the highest number of Covid cases were reported in the limits of Choppadandi, Kothapalli, Chigurumamidi, Gangadhara and Gundi PHCs.

He instructed medical staff to carry out fever survey and supply covid kits to the people suffering with corona symptoms. ANMs and ASHA workers should regularly monitor the people who were suffering with symptoms for five days. If the symptoms do not come down, they should be admitted in isolation centers if they test positive for the virus in RTPCR test, he said.

The Collector also instructed officials to carry out corona tests in highly populated areas by organizing special medical camps. Positive patients must be admitted either to isolation centers or kept in home quarantined.

Instructing the officials to carry out covid test to 20 to 25 primary contacts of positive patients, he directed authorities to resume isolation centers in Huzurabad and Jammikunta areas. Shashanka also instructed programme officers to establish isolation centers in the areas where the highest number of corona cases were reported.

The Collector advised the people not to take part in marriage functions, funeral processions and other mass gathering places. Village secretaries should educate the people about covid guidelines.

He wanted the mandal task force teams to visit every village and inspect the implementation of Covid prevention measures such as covid test, fever survey and others. In the wake of an increase in covid cases, everybody should wear face masks, wash hands and maintain physical distance, he said.
