Karimnagar police raid gambling centre, 17 arrested
Karimnagar rural police raided an illegal gambling centre in Subashnagar and arrested 17 persons. Cash worth Rs 6.75 lakh, vehicles and mobile phones were seized, and the case was later handed over to Three Town police.

Karimnagar: Police carried out raids on an illegal gambling centre and arrested 17 persons engaged in playing cards. Based on reliable information about gambling organised in a house in Subashnagar here, Karimnagar rural police conducted a surprise raid at the house late on Monday night and found people playing cards.
Besides taking 17 persons into custody, Rs 6.75 lakh in cash, 16 mobile phones, two cars and two two-wheelers were seized from them. It is learnt that members of the rice millers’ association, a few sarpanches from Thimmapur mandal, ruling Congress party leaders, reporters and a few people from Warangal were among those who were taken into custody.
Since the area comes under the Three Town police station, rural police have handed over the case to Three Town police based on instructions from higher officials, police sources said.
