Karimnagar: In the wake of increasing attacks on elderly persons, Karimnagar commissionerate police have come up with ‘Suraksha Yojana,’ an innovative programme for the safety and protection of elderly people.
Under this programme, elderly persons above the age of 60 years should contact police control room on 9440900971 and register their details including names and addresses.
The details will be forwarded to the police stations concerned. Based on the details, local police officials will approach the people and educate them about the measures to be taken for their safety and protection.
In a statement, Commissioner of Police, VB Kamalasan Reddy asked all the elder people above the age of 60 to register their name and address with the police control room. The CP urged the people to make the programme a success by availing the facility.
