Hyderabad: Paramita Heritage School, Karimnagar, students won the 15th edition of the Wipro earthian Awards 2025 organised recently by Wipro Limited, an AI-powered technology services and consulting company.
The annual programme promotes integrated sustainability education and recognises schools and colleges across the country that demonstrate meaningful and enduring engagement with sustainable practices and principles.
The students carried out extensive awareness programmes on waste management in their school and local community, using activities such as scavenger hunts, waste segregation, categorisation, and research on composting.
They identified key factors affecting composting rates and explored effective compost activators. By interviewing sanitation workers, farmers, festival committee members, and waste management experts, they gained deeper insights into local waste challenges.
The 2025 Wipro earthian programme saw over 2,000 submissions, with an independent jury selecting 25 winning teams. The projects showcased fresh insights into biodiversity, waste, and water, combining hands-on activities with reflective written work. Among these winners, one school from Telangana was awarded for its exceptional work.
