Karimnagar: Sri Rama Navami was celebrated on a grand scale in the historic Seetha Ramachandra Swamy temple, Illandakunta on Sunday.
After Badrachalam, Illandakunta Ramalayam is also known for Sri Rama Navami celebrations. So, devotees, who were not allowed to attend celebrations during the last two years due to Covid pandemic, thronged the shrine in a large number to watch the celesitial wedding ceremony.
BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar along with Zilla Parishad Chairperson Kanumalla Vijay, MLC Padi Koushik Reddy and District Collector RV Karnan presented silk cloths to Sri Rama and Seetha.
BJP leader and local MLA Eatala Rajender along with his wife Jamuna also presented silk cloths to the presiding deity on the occasion of celestial wedding of Sri Rama and Seetha.
Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana and others participated in the celebrations.
On the other hand, Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao participated in Sri Rama Navami celebrations held in various temples in the town and presented silk cloths to Sri Rama and Seetha.
MLAs, MLCs, Collectors and police officials participated in Sri Rama Navami celebrations held in their respective areas.
