Karimnagar: Three die in road accident
The victims were identifies as Dheeraj Kumar (23) and Sikindar Mandala (25) and Thadugu Venkat Reddy (53).
Karimnagar: Three persons including two workers from Bihar died and another injured in a road accident that took place on Rajiv Rahadari near Kothapalli of Thimmapur mandal on Friday night.
The incident occurred when a speeding car hit the labourers walking on the road.
According to police, the workers Dheeraj Kumar, Sikindar Mandala and Laxman Kumar, who are working in a rice mill in the outskirts of Kothapalli, went to Kothapalli stage in the evening.
While they were returning home, a speeding car hit them from behind. While Dheeraj Kumar (23) and Sikindar Mandala (25) died on the spot, Laxman Kumar sustained injuries.
After hitting labourers, the car rammed into the road divider and overturned. As a result, Thadugu Venkat Reddy (53), who was driving the car, plunged out from the vehicle and fell on roadside railing. Local people shifted him to Karimnagar hospital wherein he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
Venkat Reddy is a native of Laxmapur, Bejjenki mandal of Siddipet district. Knowing about the incident, LMD police visited the spot and began investigation by registering the case.
