Karimnagar: TRS candidates T Bhanuprasad and L Ramana on Tuesday filed nominations for erstwhile Karimnagar district Local Authorities’ Constituency. They were accompanied by SC Development Minister Kopulla Eeshwar, MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao and MLAs Dasari Manohar Reddy, Dr Sanjay Kumar, Korukanti Chander, and Sunke Ravishankar arrived collectorate office and submitted their papers to the returning office and Collector RV Karnan.
The sitting MLC Bhanuprasad was given another opportunity to contest in the MLC election. Former Minister L Ramana, who recently joined TRS, was also given an opportunity to contest the polls, replacing Naradasu Laxman Rao.
Later, speaking to reporters, Bhanuprasad thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for giving him an opportunity to contest in MLC polls. He also thanked Ministers and all the elected representatives of TRS for extending their support and cooperation. When asked about TRS rebels, he said the party would consult with rebels and take a decision on the issue.
Ramana said he joined TRS to work with the government to achieve the long standing demands of water, funds and employment for which the separate state agitation was started. He thanked the Chief Minister for giving him an opportunity to contest in MLC polls. Rama promised to work with the government for the development of the district.
