Karimnagar: Women to turn entrepreneur with Indira Mahila Shakthi scheme
Under the scheme, loans ranging from Rs.2 lakh to Rs.20 lakh will be provided to individuals as well as groups depending on the units.

Karimnagar: In order to help women to enhance their financial status, the district administration will encourage them to establish businesses under the Indira Mahila Shakthi scheme of the State government.
Under the scheme, loans ranging from Rs.2 lakh to Rs.20 lakh will be provided to individuals as well as groups depending on the units. While individual women would be provided loans ranging from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, groups would get from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
Besides bank linkage, Stree Nidhi loans would also be sanctioned. A total of 14 types of units have been finalized under the scheme, according to officials.
In the erstwhile Karimnagar district, 41,397 women would be provided Rs 441.83 crore to establish different businesses and places to set up canteens and event management units have also been finalized. Selected women and members of self help groups are being given a ten-day training on how to maintain canteens and monitor event management. Women who opted for event management units are being given training in catering, beautician, printing, sound system, decoration and tent house management.
Canteens will be established at Karimnagar collectorate, Swashakthi college and Gangadhara of Karimnagar district. In Peddapalli district, these will be at the Sultanabad MPDO office complex, guest house in Dharmaram, Manthani RDO office guest house premises and Peddapalli MPDO office premise. In Jagtial district, the canteens will be at the Jagtial bus-stand, government hospital, Kondagattu temple premises, Dharmapuri temple premises and Korutla MPDO office premises. In Rajanna-Sircilla, canteens would be established in Integrated District Offices Complex and government medical college.
Meanwhile, event management units will be established in Annaram, Manakondur mandal of Karimnagar, Peddabonkur of Peddapalli, Dharur of Jagtial and Jogapur of Chandurthi mandal in Rajanna-Sircilla district.
